Safeguarding Policies
The Parish of Much Wenlock with Bourton
Those persons functionally identified below ("we") understand that parishioners are likely from time to time have differing levels of vulnerability and that some amongst us may come to be regarded as being vulnerable (to some lesser or greater extent) at some point in our lives.
We will seek to ensure that we will offer respectful pastoral care and safeguarding to all adults in the Parish.
We will strive to promote safe practice.
We commit to promoting the inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable parishioners.
Under this safeguarding policy we recognise that it is our responsibility to support those who report a physical, emotional, sexual, financial and spiritual abuse of vulnerable people and as may be necessary report such abuse or exploitation.
In the selection of those persons named from time to time below we will take all reasonable and proper care in selecting those who will be subject to this Policy.
The Parish is committed to supporting, resourcing, training and regularly reviewing those who volunteer to implement this, Policy.
The Parish has adopted the Safeguarding Policy of the Church of England and the Diocese and require those implementing this policy to similarly do so and to follow such additional recommendation and guidelines as may be set out in writing by the PCC from time to time.
