Music For Your Wedding

Choice of Music

There are suggestions for organ music and hymns on the information and booking form below.

If you require music not listed you should contact the director of music who is usually available after Sunday services or choir practice to advise on the choice of music for your Wedding. Please make an appointment.

The key areas to consider are:

  1. Before the arrival of the Bride (this is often left to the discretion of the organist)
  2. The entrance of the Bride
  3. The congregational hymns
  4. Music during the signing of the registers, (if the choir are present they usually sing an anthem or motet)
  5. The exit of the Bride and Groom.

Choir

If you would like the choir to attend please complete the relevant box on the reply form. We are unable to guarantee that a choir will be available for all dates. We are unable to offer a choir on weekdays during term time.

The choir fees are payable in advance with the standard church fees. If the choir cannot attend the fee will be refunded.

Other music and Soloists

If you wish to incorporate a soloist they should be able to provide their own accompanist. Facilities can be made available for prerecorded music on CD’s or memory stick if required.

Orders of Service

You are advised not to print orders of service until the final details are confirmed with both the priest and the director of music.

The Wedding Day

We politely request that the Bride is at the church and ready for the ceremony to begin punctually. The organist and choir reserve the right to leave if the ceremony is delayed by fifteen minutes or more. You are advised to inform the official photographer of this request.

Video or Sound Recording

If you wish to have a video recording or sound recording of your wedding, this should be pointed out to the clergy and the director of music. A performance copyright licence fee is required and should be paid in advance with the standard church fees. The licence fee is charged regardless of whether the recording is professional or amateur and may be charged retrospectively if recordings are made without notification.

Fees

These are payable in advance with the standard church fees. You may at the discretion of the director of music provide your own organist. If you provide your own organist, you will still be liable to pay the fee for the church organist.
